Personal journals from SAMS researchers onboard

Three of the scientists on the expedition are keeping their own diaries in addition to Laila's expedition blog. Read them all here.

THE BLOGS AND SCIENTIFIC DIARIES FROM OUR EXPEDITION

Dr Ray Leakey, Dr Elanor Bell, Dr Henrik Stahl and Laila Sadler

Dr Ray Leakey, expedition leader, is providing regular insights into the science of the the journey and giving us an overall perspective that comes from leading this scientific cruise. He has put years of planning into the project and ensures that everything comes together on the ship to produce valuable scientific findings.

Dr Elanor Bell writes about the everyday ups and downs of life onboard whilst trying to conduct research in a 'floating laboratory' (without windows!).

Dr Henrik Stahl reports almost daily on 'life in the freezer' as he prepares his delicate research equipment for emersion into the depths of the ocean.

Laila Sadler our science writer onboard provides a window on the remote Arctic world, watching how the scientists manage their research in this unique waterborne laboratory and how the ship copes in polar ice.
