Current projects

BioMara: Sustainable fuels from marine biomass

Currently part of the Phaeodactylum genome annotation group looking for genes involved in carbohydrate metabolism, cell adhesion and cell wall development. Part of a team of experts assembled by the Irish company BioXL to carry out a review for Sustainable Energy Ireland on the scope for production of biofuel from marine algae in Ireland.
