My role is to provide technical development support to the scientific mission at SAMS. I have an exceptionally broad range of experience in software development from low-level programming of electronics to full-stack development of web-based applications including mobile applications.
I am interested not just in the software but in the development of whole instruments used by SAMS and their deployment.
Current projects
I am currently working full time on the Oceanids C2 project. At this moment (Feb 2019), I am trying to provide real-time feedback on measurements taken by underwater robots to highlight unexpected results. This can be used to focus attention on places where something out of the ordinary is happening while the robot is on the scene. The idea is that this will help scientists make new discoveries about ocean processes.
