Postgraduate Education Administrator (ACES+ Programme)

As a dual professional I am fascinated with innovative approaches to find tailored solutions to support our international student teaching projects and in particular to support our ACES+ programme into the next development stages.

I bring more than seven years front-facing student education and support experience from Further Education with strong HE interface. I am driven to support students to succeed and to have access to correct resources, workshops, skills, and engagement from a projects angle as well as from a learning & teaching background. I am aiming to deliver an overall excellent student experience.

My role at SAMS

In my evolving role at SAMS, I am learning new ways to support the existing ACES+ students, anticipating an expansion of our programme.  The focus areas are organising and planning around recruitment, admissions, exam boards and supporting learning & teaching core subject areas in aquaculture and supporting the module leaders.

The conference is the culmination of research for our completing students, and I have enjoyed planning around this year’s event in Radboud. I am looking forward to induction week in Oban to support new students and at the same time support the success of the graduands.

As part of the SAMS education team, based at the Sheina Marshall Building, I am particularly involved in supporting the full administrative process for the Erasmus Mundus ACES+ Programme, communicating widely across the core delivery partners and associated partners to deliver internships and dissertation opportunities for our international student group. Additionally, I will be liaising with our European project officers and supporting new ways of marketing the programme.

I am always keen to embrace new opportunities for ongoing personal development and am currently working towards gaining my Charter, updating on my Digital Certificate and Cybersecurity.

Key areas of academic interest include philosophy of biology, theology, education. Key themes include STEM; equality, diversity and inclusion; international and commercial interests.
