The main outputs and responsibilities of the job role are to support in the development of content through the efficient dissemination of information available from papers and research conducted at SAMS. It is expected that the job holder will be able to provide highly effective tools and materials for the Academy and Enterprise, based on a meaningful understanding of the work done in each paper.
The individual would be required to engage with entrants to the market, assisting in the basic understanding of the Seaweed Academy objectives, courses, and materials provided. They will be expected to market the Seaweed Academy courses to potential attendees and respond to questions and enquiries about the courses. Finally, the role requires the individual to assist in the organisation of events and training course calendar.
Ideally educated to or working towards a graduate/postgraduate degree in marine / environmental sciences, you will utilise your experience to develop content and materials for the Seaweed Academy and wider SAMS. The role will also require an aspect of project management and delivery, customer account management, quality assurance, opportunity generation, generate visual aids and, when requested, manage transport and logistics.
As a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills, you will enjoy the challenge of working at the interface of scientific research, industrial challenges, and evidence-based policymaking.
