SAMS PhD prizewinner

Congratulations was in order for SAMS PhD student Gill Andrew! Gill was recently awarded the SEPA prize for Best Visual Presentation at this years Scottish Marine Group meeting at Napier University. Gill's project is titled 'Biodiversity & ecosystem functioning: trophic diversity versus species diversity in intertidal grazers as revealed by stable isotopes' and one of the key species in her studies is the humble limpet. Gill impressed the judges with some unique footage of limpets feeding on Laminaria. This is the first time this behaviour has been captured on camera.
