Marine Biogeochemistry PDRA

I am a marine biogeochemist interested in how nutrients and trace metals are cycled within fjords and shelf sea environments.

Research overview

My research utilises nutrient concentrations, stable isotope techniques, sequential leach experiments, and mass spectrometry to better understand:

> The marine silicon cycle: sources, sinks and feedbacks

> The role of floating offshore wind farms in turbulent mixing of nutrients and oxygen in seasonally stratified shelf seas and its effects on primary productivity

> Sediment diagenesis in fjords undergoing glacier retreat

> Interactions between silicon and iron in fjord sediments
