Principal Investigator in Physical Oceanography

I am physical oceanographer interested in turbulence and mixing induced by tidal interaction with topography.

My favourite research methods include numerical hydrodynamic applications such as non-hydrostatic (MITgcm), unstructured (FVCOM) ocean and weather forecast (WRF) models running on High Performance Computers. I produce operational regional weather and ocean circulation forecasts for five days in real time based on a fine-scale West Scotland Coastal Ocean Modelling System (WeStCOMS) accessible via SAMS data service and open license Thredds server.

My publication history includes 48 peer-reviewed articles. I am also an active member of the MASTS NHM Forum steering group.
