Library and Research Administrator (D34/23.SG)


Location:  SAMS, Oban

Contract Type: Open-ended

Working Pattern:  Full Time (37 hours per week)

Salary Range:  £25,197.48 - £33,647.14 per annum

The Role

The SAMS research library provides a service to researchers, lecturers, and students alike. A central part of the job, includes the day to day running and management of the library, including stock management, managing our historical collection and journal subscriptions. There is also a wider role in providing and administrating Open Access services and advice to researchers across the entire UHI partnership. In addition, the post includes organising more targeted information services regarding opportunities and collaboration events to all UHI scientists/engineers working in marine, environmental sciences and engineering specialties.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a proactive individual with experience of running an academic library, is familiar with Open Access principals and Research Information Management Systems, as well as managing information flow in a research environment. A recognised CILIP approved qualification would be highly advantageous. A good communicator is essential as they will be regularly interacting with a variety of stakeholders across the UHI partnership.
