In order to be Covid19 safe, this year we will be delivering our training via an online platform. The course is aimed at students, technicians, early career researchers, industry professionals and algae enthusiasts. You are invited to register for this unique course comprising:

Algae in Biotechnology: Opportunities and Challenges
Algal Sequencing and Bioinformatics
Large scale microalgal culture
Macroalgal Culture

Practical Demonstrations by our technical experts on:

Media prep
Subculturing
Enumeration
Cryopreservation
Strain Isolation
Macroalgal Scale-up

Opportunities for discussion, questions and networking will be timetabled in and there will be some fun practical tasks for participants.

The training is being financially supported by Algae-UK and the British Phycological Society, however, a fee of £50 to cover costs will be charged.

Spaces will be limited, so please apply by 7th February by emailing ccap@sams.ac.uk with a short message providing your name, position and place of work. Students should channel their application via their supervisor to indicate their endorsement. On confirmation that you have been selected to join the course, you will be contacted with payment details.

Student Course Members: We are delighted to announce support from the British Phycological Society (BPS). Applicants who are student members of the Society can apply to have the course fee refunded by a BPS student award.
