Where: Scottish Association for Marine Science (SAMS), Dunstaffnage
When: Thursday 18 July: tours 10 – 4
Minibus transport between Corran Halls, Oban to SAMS every 30 minutes
Join SAMS scientists and engineers to explore new info and tools to help you use the sea more sustainably. Covering everything from marine pollution to robotics, and from marine mammals to what lives below the surface, this event will engage you with ground-breaking innovations in marine research. Discover and share new positive steps towards ocean sustainability we can all make day-to-day.
A minibus will pick you up at Oban’s Corran Halls at the booked time. At SAMS you’ll join a guided tour lasting about an hour. After that we are inviting visitors to explore our visitor centre (with café and shop), partake in some self-guided activities and maybe visit the neighbouring Dunstaffnage Castle. You can hop onto a return bus either at the end of the tour or stay as long as you like.
Please note that due to the free element at the end of the organised tour, it is possible that you may have to wait a little for a bus in case the next one is already full. Our visitor centre will stay open until the last visitor has left.
We encourage all visitors to come by minibus or bike to keep the carbon footprint of our event low. But if you need to drive, there should be parking available at SAMS / Ocean Explorer Centre or Dunstaffnage Castle.
Tickets must be shown to the Minibus driver.
