Louise has over 30-years’ experience in the maritime sector, working for Engineering and Technical Maritime Consultancy and Survey companies. With a background in research, project delivery and 20+ years of international experience in leading Business Development, Sales, and Marketing teams to achieve commercially driven targets across multiple market sectors, Louise has practical experience of oceanographic data collection and is passionate about protecting the marine environment.

Louise has a degree in Applied Physics and a PhD in Materials Engineering and Science, graduating from the University of Liverpool in 1993.  After a period working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Sheffield, Louise moved to Fugro, where she used her experience of the use of radar to measure waves and current data to support coastal infrastructure projects commercially.  In 2003, she gained an MBA from the Open University and became part of the business development team, gaining international experience in leading business development to achieve commercially driven targets across multiple market sectors.

Louise joined BMT, an engineering and technical consultancy in 2011.  As part of the Senior Leadership Team, she was responsible for leading Business Development, Sales and Marketing teams globally and helping to set the growth strategy for BMT.  Being part of the Executive Team, she also supported the team with overall organisational governance and provided input and support to the BMT Board.

Outside of BMT, Louise has over 6-years’ experience as a Non-Executive Director of the Energy Industries Council (EIC), a not-for-profit members organisation and one of the largest energy trade associations globally. As part of this role, she is a member of the Chairmans Committee.
